In the context of direct-to-film (DTF) printing, three key aspects must be considered.
Cause:
Improper maintenance of DTF equipment.
Printer has been idle for more than 3 days.
Printhead might be missing nozzles.
Lower fluency of DTF white ink compared to color inks, requiring agitation of the white ink before printing. Additionally, check for air in the ink tube and damper.
RIP software settings may have been changed ( white ink limit 1 - 100% )
Solution:
Step 1: Conduct a test print / nozzle check to assess the status of the print head (refer to the provided image).
Step 2: Agitate white ink with the recirculation knob in the back of your Impact USA printer.
Step 3: Inspect the white ink dampers and ink tube for air. If present, perform a thorough cleaning.
Step 4: If cleaning is unsuccessful you can run a LOAD INK from PrintEXP for 20 seconds.
Step 5: In the software, select the appropriate limit and increase the size of the white ink load.
Step 6: If you are unable to recover missing nozzles you can soak the head in DTF cleaning solution for 24 hours.
Precaution:
Regularly maintain and wet cap your Impact USA DTF printer.
Periodically inspect the printhead for missing nozzles to prevent printing issues.
Shake the white ink bottle before printing to maintain optimal fluency.
Routinely check for air in the ink tube and damper to avoid disruptions in the printing process.
